For web hosting, we recommend Cloudways for those who are not ready to bear premium cost associated with the likes of WP Engine (WordPress only) and Liquid Web. GoDaddy, although a bit cheap, does not provide free SSL. You end up paying SSL fee that raises your hosting cost. We also like web hosting services by NameCheap that is cheap with excellent customer support.
Now, coming to Cloudways, there are a number of features that sets them apart.
- There is no need to pay upfront fee. You start for free and pay at the end of the month.
- You can select server from 5 cloud hosting service providers: Amazon, Google, DigitalOcean, Linode, and Vultr.
- For WordPress users, there is auto migration plugin provided. This is something missed in GoDaddy (where they charge fee for migration).
- For our 2 GB Cloudways plan opted with DigitalOcean server, we have hosted 13 WordPress applications.
Our monthly cost is less than 23$. So, we are paying less than 2$ for each WordPress hosting.
We are not claiming that we are achieving the rock solid speed of WP Engine or Liquid Web. Yet, our purpose is met without compromise on quality, given the price we are paying.
